Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame: Daniel Mihai, violin & tape Deadline: July 4, 2013

Vox Novus is calling for one-minute pieces composed for Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame: Daniel Mihai, violin & tape to be premiered in September 2013 for Composer’s Voice collaboration concert in Constanţa, Romaniai.

Submission guidelines:


-Submission Deadline July 4, 2013

-All works must be 60 seconds or less in length

-This call is open to all composers.

-There is no fee to submit.

-Works are to be written for violin and tape (mp3) only.

-Works should be composed specifically for this project, performers, and theme.

-All pieces must be premieres and not previously written or performed.

-No works over a minute will be reviewed.

-Multiple submissions are not accepted. Send your best work!

-Works need to be submitted via email to: composersvoicesubmit@gmail.com

-The subject line should read 15-Minutes-of-Fame: Daniel Mihai – Composer’s Name - Title

-The email must include the composer's picture as an attached jpg file.

-The score must be submitted as an attached PDF file. Send score and parts together as one file. (Performance notes should be included with the score.)

-The tape/electronics must be submitted as an attached mp3 only. No other format will be accepted

-Include the dedication to Daniel Mihai on the score

-Include a 50-word biography and 50 word program note as text in the body of the email. Do NOT send these as attachments.

Daniel Mihai


Activity in the last three years have had as main objective to deepen knowledge and repertoire violin soloist and chamber in the postmodern period. With the new orientation and knowledge represented by Vox Novus Music Foundation in New York - USA, represented by the current generation led by Robert Voisey and Douglas DaSilva had numerous recitals, concerts and festivals under this prestigious musical American institution. Also, as an active member of the ensemble Musica Nuova Consonante I came into contact with Belgian school myriad of postmodern composers belonging, of distinguished names such as Frederic Devresse, Piotr Lachert and Boudewijn Buckinx. I also played numerous solo and chamber opuses with all led by Maestro who founded Hyperion Ensemble- Iancu Dumitrescu, and other eminent composers of local opposites, (some of my work being dedicated): Șerban Nichifor,Liana Alexandra, Octavian Nemescu, Maia Ciobanu, Ana-Maria Avram, Darius Nemes-Bota and many others... I have studied with the Maestro and teachers like Serban Nichifor, Stefan Gheorghiu and a lot of great teachers of Romanian School of Music (National University of Music in Bucharest)! The first teacher in my life was my father who brings my special love to music and special to my first love- violine! I attended MBA courses in the Faculty of Performing Art, with the objective of improvement and assimilation of all knowledge related to contemporary music.I am teacher of violine in Constanta from 2009 and also i play with pleasure this kind of music wherever! Also, I finish my final thesis with brio!
